BRUBACHER, Roy M. - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Saint Luke's Place, Cambridge, Roy M. Brubacher, in his 86th year, of St. Jacobs.
Beloved husband of Minerva (Snyder) Brubacher for 59 years. Loving father of Laverne and Ella Brubacher of St. Jacobs, Carol and Leroy Shantz of Waterloo, Arlene and John Groh of Waterloo, Marion and Ray Martin of Toronto, Ralph and Anne Brubacher of St. Jacobs. Fondly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother-in-law of Mabel Brubacher of Waterloo.Predeceased by his parents, Noah and Leah (Martin) Brubacher; one brother, Abram; three sisters, Nora Brubacher, Susanna Jantzi and Elma Brownsberger and one great-grandson, Adam Shantz.
Roy was actively involved in the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church all his life, serving on a variety of church committees. He provided leadership in Summer Bible School and Sunday School. He operated a successful Holstein Dairy Farm at RR 1, Waterloo. He served on a number of farm related associations including Farm Safety and Soil and Crop Improvement.
The family received friends and relatives at Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, Monday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Visitation will then continue at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 12 noon on Wednesday transfer will be made to the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Harold Hildebrand Schlegel officiating followed by interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.
In his memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.The family would like to thank the staff at Saint Luke's Place for the excellent and compassionate care given to Roy.
