- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maynard Wideman at the age of 68. He left us on May 22, 2021 and was reunited with his son Chris (1998). Loving and cherished husband of Susan (Brenneman) for 42 years. Proud father of the late Chris, Kim (Jeff Shantz), and Jeremy (Lindsay Wilson). Devoted and adored grandfather to Henry, Abby, Nora and Isla.
He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters Elaine and Alvin Hershberger, Elroy and Ruby, Beulah and Mel Gerber, Reta and Rudy Derksen, Eva and Norm Woodard, Cliff, Stew and Diane, and Marilyn; brothers- and sisters-in-law Judy Brenneman, Maureen and Harold Gerber, Linda and Dave Lichty, Gloria and Tom Roth, John and Shirley Brenneman, and Dan and Lena Brenneman; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Aaron and Florence (Martin), parents-in-law Floyd and Bernice (Wagler) Brenneman, sister and brother-in-law Alice and Robert Martin, sister-in-law Joanne, and brother-in-law Doug Brenneman. A lifelong resident of St. Jacobs, Maynard will be greatly missed by a large community of extended family, friends, and neighbours.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. Drive-by visitation will be held from 2 - 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1308 King St. N., St. Jacobs. Guests are asked to enter the parking lot from Young St., at the back of the church and are required to stay in their vehicles. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467.
