- Noah Edward Swaim Snyder was the youngest of two known children of Lucy Swaim (1827-1902). Lucy married Johann Wilhelm Schneider (went by William Snider) (1818-1898) on 20 Apr 1874 at Forsyth County, North Carolina, who had eight known children by his first wife, Lucy Clodfelter (1808-1874), whom he married on 16 Oct 1831. In 1870 Lucy Swaim and her two sons, Naaman (1863-1957) and Noah Edward (1868-1929) (both listed as Swaim in Census) was living at South Fork Township, Forsyth County, North Carolina. In 1880 William, Lucy Swaim Snider, Naaman, Noah and a grandson of William, Samuel Snider (age 21) were living at South Fork Township, Forsyth County, North Carolina. Were Naaman and Noah born out of wedlock to Lucy Swaim? Was William actually their father, or did he adopt them? They both went by Snider during their adult lives.
Noah married first to Martha Elizabeth Sink (1872-1891) (who is buried as Snider) on 14 Aug 1890 at Davidson County, North Carolina. It is not known if Noah had any children with Martha.
After Martha died, Noah remarried to Leonore Sides (1872-1913) on 14 Jun 1896 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Noah and Leonore were reportedly the parents of six children, five known, namely:
1. Minnie May Snyder Pope (1896-1943)
2. Luther Augustus Snyder (1899-1980)
3. Jane "Jennie" Lucille Snyder (1901-1996)
4. Henry Edward Snyder (1905-1992)
5. Florence Elizabeth Snyder (1910-1927) [1]
